The Course

Twin Group’s CTHCM Diploma in Hotel Management is a full-time course offered at our training centre in Lewisham, South-East London. Students joining our January 2008 intake will undertake two 6-month periods of study, separated by a 6-month period of paid work experience, when they can put into practice their newly acquired skills. Students will receive formal tuition in seminars and lectures concentrating on Diploma work and study skills. In addition to this, students should undertake at least 10 hours of self-study and homework per week. The course programme will be divided into ten modules as follows:

  • Food and beverage operations
  • Food hygiene, health and safety
  • Front office operations
  • Facilities & Accommodation Operations
  • Hospitality Finance
  • Introduction to Business Operations
  • Marketing
  • The Tourism Industry
  • Business Computing
  • The Global Hospitality Industry

Each of the modules will be formally assessed by written examination and students will also be entered into an IELTS Examination during the course to assist transfer to University.

The Qualification

Successful completion of the courses leads to a highly respected qualification - the CTHCM Diploma in Hotel Management, which is endorsed by the HCIMA. As a stand-alone qualification, the Diploma will give status to your CV and is an excellent entry-point into a successful career in hospitality and tourism.

The Diploma is also accepted by a wide range of universities as criteria for advanced entry into a variety of hospitality and tourism undergraduate degree programmes. If students are interested in this option, Twin Group will be pleased to facilitate the transfer from Diploma Programme to University for September 2008 entry. Transfer to university will also be dependent on an acceptable IELTS Examination score, which will form part of the Diploma programme.
